Tough diplomatic fight ahead

The UNSC closed doors meeting called by Pakistan has yielded expected results. The UNSC has called for de escalation and resolution of issues bilaterally. Pakistan as a non permanent member of the UNSC had expected to internationalize the situation especially after it has suspended the Shimla agreement. Reports say that it faced tough questions in the meeting but it has still managed to get the UNSC to discuss the issue and put on record its observations. While the Pahalgam attack is a temporary issue UNSC has discussed Kashmir and in the absence of Shimla agreement India cannot emphasize bilateral status. As on date non of the major powers and now even the UNSC have named Pakistan for the Pahalgam attack. Even the reference of TRF as owning the attack was removed from the agenda on record on Pakistan’s request. It may await the report from UN military observers group for India and Pakistan UNMOGIP Indian diplomats have much to do ahead.
