Grok 3 the latest version from xAI has been available for free for all x users for a month now. But the storm it has raised over the last few days is reflective of the speed with which it is improving and adapting to the questions and comments. While ChatGPT and deepseek had been in a comparative discourse xAI has been introducing newer versions and its latest version displays higher language nuances including satires and slangs. One broad observation of all the platforms is that they collate data from internet and formulate them in a language responsive to the question. This may seem like a higher order search engine but with a limitation of choice for the user. But what is at display now is its ability to learn and improve. Each of these platforms may have their area or streams of strength like coding, philosophy or even news but to be able to engage with the user is the most valuable part. Grok has suddenly changed the way social media works as it addresses the primary problem, that of authenticity of the source of information peddled on social media. As AI still can’t be accused of agendas, trolling becomes difficult. The way it makes value laden propositions without any inherent value bias makes it difficult to refute. Over the last few days it has been answering political questions with facts and opinions or even conclusions. While much of it busts many dominant social media narratives its humor is hard hitting too. As it improves and enlarges its sources and anticipates its users it will pose a challenge to researchers and leaders.
