The new rules allow for shops and businesses to function day and night all through the week that’s 247 literally. On the face of it, it looks like a libertarian approach enabling freedom of choice but has deep social and economic ramifications. 3 major concerns are about providing power, security and protecting workers from exploitation. The fact that electricity cannot be stored therefore necessitates that production and consumption patterns are similar. This is the reason why regional and periodic offs are distributed so that the peak and low levels of generation are matched. The second concern is about security for the shops the roads leading to them and the residents of the areas. The act makes specific requirements for registration of workers but enforcing them would be a major challenge. Lastly the environmental concerns of air and noise pollution and the impact on health and tranquility. The state should come up with greater assurances and explanations
