The AI action summit held in Paris between 10th and 11th of this month was co-chaired by PM Modi. The summit is one of the many such summits being held lately we have seen that the US and China through its new app DeepSeek have taken lead in the field, and Europe is trying to catch up fast while the summit claimed to to deliberate on inclusivity and accessibility of AI. Much of the deliberations focused on safety and the ethical concerns so as to secure long-term humanitarian concerns and wished to draw a regulative framework for it. Notably the US and UK did not sign the declaration, US vice president Vance specifically highlighted the issue of over regulation of technology and also cautioned against collaborating with China in the technology UK was also seen following the line. 57 other nations, including China, Japan, Australia, India, and France signed the declaration. The Indian Prime Minister speaking on occasion, focused on using AI for good and universalizing its access. He also spoke about the national AI mission and the developments made in securing digital infrastructure for the people of India. It may be noted that no tech companies from India participated in the summit. The chief Takeaway from the summit is that Indian companies have a long way to go to secure their place in Summits.
